I suspect if we were all honest and considered what really drives which airline we use then the type has nothing to do with it.
I don't like these LCC's, I have no choice where I live so I have to use Jetstar. I hate flying with them, I hate supporting them financially but I do because I have to, what's more I am flying more often than I ever did as a pax simply because of price.
I would put money on the fact that the majority of pax do not even look at aircraft type when the book with, let's say QF, when they board they probably make the usual derogatory comments re small aircraft and then after the flight, are pretty happy with what they got.
It's pilots who have stars in their eyes, through a weird sense of ambition believe a turbo prop will not survive. Fact is they do, they are and they probably will for some time. Wasn't that long ago and it, was the only way around the world.
