Fragul-I think most of us know there are some well qualified, highly skilled, professional staff at Ronaldsway who contribute to the safe and effective operation of the airport, and who could, no doubt, hold down similar posts at any similar airport. Anyone who fits that profile deserves to be paid the going rate for the job and accorded appropriate respect.

However, it is well known that there are some, shall we call them, blue collar employee groups who, through a long history of militancy and bullying union tactics have got themselves into a situation where they are earning far more than their skills and attitudes would be worth in the open market.

This problem is not unique to the airport, but is a characteristic of the costly socialist paradise the CM refuses to even acknowledge, let alone address. This has to be tackled as part of the response to the fiscal crisis confronting the Island, and any IOM tax payers are quite entitled to have a swipe at it.
