Farnborough Area 1 RA(T) is actually 8nm radius NOT 12nm!!!.

Edit to add:

Just noticed the statement 'this is the same airspace as used for a Royal Flight'
NO!!!
RA(T) and CAS(T) are two different things.
The CAS(T) around Farnborough is usually 10nm radius (sometimes 5nm radius) and is Class A airspace, meaning all flight is under IFR or Special VFR, whilst the RA(T) is Class G for flight rules (ie VFR permitted), but pilots must ask permission to transit and must obey ATC instructions (a bit like the rules for an ATZ). RA(T) Area 1 is as I stated originally, 8nm radius NOT 10nm, and AUS obviously deem it sufficient to protect Royal Flights as they are operating in and out of Farnborough without CAS(T) last week and this week.
