I'm having a perspective moment.
The "bulge" on the left looks like it is in the centre of the prop disc and is a spinner, and the one on the right looks like a semi-retracted nosewheel. I can't see a tailwheel. Hence my shot at an inverted engine.
If I'm completely wrong, then all I can think of is two horizontal protruding cylinders.
