the business model of ASW using PLH works on the basis that the competitors like Flymaybe cannot operate out of PLH.
Wouldn't the essential facilites rule apply to PLH? Usually you cannot operate an airport of that size and refuse airlines that are willing to pay the published fees to operate from there.
The codeshare with Eastern on the Gatwick route has commenced - you can now book flights from PLH/NQY on one ticket with the LGW sector having an Eastern flight number.
What is the point of that? Eastern does not operate from PLH/NQY or LGW, and probably is much lesser known in the southwest than ASW, so they will hardly generate any additional business. Or did I miss something here?
