Glad it worked this time. In November 1999, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first probe and drogue contact in air-to-air refuelling, this Meteor and a Eurofighter, as it was then still called, were scheduled to make contact with a VC10 tanker and provide a photo opportunity of the "then and now" variety.

In the event one of the aircraft went u/s and only a singleton took part. Guess which aircraft turned up serviceable. (Hint - it didnt have 'euro' or 'fighter' in its name!)
