You also have to determine whether the aircraft you're looking at is an annexe 2 (orphan) type or not. If it is annexe 2, it requires a CofA once every 3 years (known originally as a 'star' annual with fees to the CAA) and an annual carried out by a suitable M3 organisation . If it is included in the list of types recognised by EASA then it has to have an ARC issued for a year and this has to be carried out by an organisation with Part M approval. Simples!
