The types of media files that can be played using Windows Media Player. Supported media formats include the following: .aif, .aifc, .aiff, .asf, .asx, au, .avi, .cda, .ivf, .m1v, .m3u, .mid, .midi, mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .rmi, .snd, .wax, .wav, .wma, .wms, wmv, .wvx, .wmz.
