Plane nosedives into tarmac after clipping hangar

Plane nosedives into tarmac after clipping hangar

From the ABC

A pilot has been taken to hospital with head injuries after a light plane crash in central western New South Wales.

The plane came down at Orange airport just before 6:00pm AEST.

Police superintendent David Driver says the plane clipped the top of a hangar and nose-dived, hitting the tarmac and skidding into a shed.

He says the 43-year-old pilot was able to free himself from the wreckage.

"It's still early stages of the investigation into the incident but the pilot did manage to get himself out of the aircraft and walked to a nearby hangar where he raised the alarm," he said.

"He did suffer some head injuries but he's been taken to Orange Base Hospital."
