TD - you have not defined your OS, but assuming you finally got XP that far north
, Control Panel/Add/Remove programmes/Set Programme access and defaults and you can fiddle to your heart's content.
I would vote to keep Itunes, personally - its interface with the Ipod is good and being able to share music libraries over a network is useful.
