Its great when things don't change. I flew over Moresby before dawn this morning en route AKL - BWN and my colleague decided to monitor the ATIS. No ATIS just a massage to contact GRND or TWR for the weather - the same message they have been playing every morning for as long as I can remember. My colleague was surprised so I told him about going into the TWR for flight planning before dawn one morning nearly 20 years ago. After rousing them from their slumbers on the floor,
"Moning tru, nogat weather?"
"No"
"How come?"
"it is dark"
We asked for it and it was finally relayed to us about half way to Kikori - I couldn't help but smile.
Oh and WW the most popular rental videos played on community TVs in the settlements in my time were Rambo and Chuck Norris vids. I doubt that has changed either.
