I've just looked at the CAA regs and it says:
An applicant for the first type rating for a multi pilot aeroplane shall provide evidence that the following requirements have been met:-
b) is the holder of a multi-engine Instrument rating
Holder does not necessarily mean "Current" does it?
The reason I ask is that I've been offered a job on a turbo prop and the type rating course is in 4 weeks or so. I've explained to the company that my IR has lapsed and they did not know whether I needed it current to undertake the type rating.
Is this a CAA requirement or an Operators requirement?
