May 2010 Passenger figures make for encouraging reading.
Almost 76,000 passengers handled in May 2010, down 5% on May 2009 - the first time it has registered single digit falls for some months.
Big losses accounted for: PIK, EDI, MRS, LGS plus frequency reductions on DUB, FAO, HER, GRO, CFU.
Excellent performance on the following routes:
IBZ up 300%
RHO up 76%
PFO up 63%
TFS up 95%
DLM up 65%
MIR up 41%
ALC up 18%
MHN up 41%
AGP up 4%
MJV up 4%
PMI up 3%
PSA up 0.2%
New routes also doing 'OK' include: Bodrum, Antalya, Las Palmas, Fuerteventura, Arrecife, Valencia, Malta & Sharm El Sheikh
International passengers carried (around 73,000) compared to EXT (around 50,000) and SOU (around 63,000) were much stronger showing the potential the airport has.
Domestic flights were pretty non-existent apart from the start of MAN (27th May) and paltry performance of the bmibaby JER service.
