Its usually flights to Barcelona, Berlin, Geneva, London (LGW & LHR), Malaga, Zurich etc... & all Transatlantic flights (even though MCO has not used them on a few occasions) use airbridges....
I have no doubt the ''experience'' the DAA are talking about is using airbridges too.
