As a youngish FO I remember sitting on the flight deck when the flight engineer appeared outside the cockpit window . "Must be going to clean the windows" I thought. Then I realised he still on the steps and was shouting "Set the
park brake!"
I think the trailing edge ended up inches from the hi-loader.
It was always useful having an FE around. Sorely missed.
