FR winter flights
These rumours are very unsettling but not true.
We have been told the 2nd AC is departing for 5 months over the winter and will be back for next summer, certainly the long term plan for BOH is for five AC at some stage. The extra pilots (2) and cabin crew (15ish) are being drafted to other bases at the end of the summer season but not the original crew who will be operating the one AC for the winter schedule. Pax numbers are constantly over 85% and the base ancillery sales are constantly in the top 2 (of 40+) bases. Do you really think this is a base with an axe hanging over it! We rarely have no shows for the flights which is a very solid indication that the yeilds are high as people a more likely to make their flight if they have paid good money for their ticket. When was the last time you saw any(very) cheap tickets for BOH flights?
Sure FR are probablly playing hardball with the airport, thats one of the reasons we are still around and making money,Flying new AC full of Pax.
Stop knocking FR from the outside, if you dont like us travel to LHR and get a flight in between strikes, just leave us to do our thing our (successful) way.
