Of course the Stonehenge Visitors centre wouldn't have had to have been thought about at all if the Commanding Officer of Stonehenge Airfield had been allowed to remove some 'stones' that he considered to be a hazard to his aviators back during WW1
He was though, given permission to paint them white.
