Ok so a percentage of the local population want to fly to say SXF, RYG, NYO for city breaks, however, this population in that catchment area is still nowhere near enough to justify regular 189 seater flights, to do this you need two way traffic, and I dont think BOH can really tick that box. Its great that people want to fly from their local area and great when RYR announce CCF, but obviously the demand wasnt there for it so it got axed...this airline is a business not a local service. Where are the people of BOH catchment area voting for with there wallets....sun sun sun...this is just the way it is. Look, HHN was tried, EDI was and so was PIK, 3 "city" routes and they all failed in terms of yields and sustainable loads. Exactly the same has happened up in BHX as there just isnt enough demand for these flights, no matter how many routes tried, TRF, NYO, BLL all gone.

The airline is now focused on raising yields and raising profits through its core business, not through marketing deals and route incentives from local governments, and where does BOH fit into this....with your bucket and spade routes which have little competition and provide good load factors with sensible yields. Maybe in time the odd city flight could be tested, maybe Venice and Rome, which may attract holiday makers and short city break passengers.

If BOH could really sustain these routes in the current economic environment do you not think RYR and EZY would be all over BOH now fighting it out with each other.....
