Its NOT an 'interview' on the phone. It was likely an English language check, and perhaps an opportunity to 'clear up' any mistakes/omissions on your application.
Even though you may be from/live in the UK, perhaps you name isn't? Perhaps the 'blurb' you wrote on the application was of a poor standard?
When you are being called for a potential invite for interview, I suggest this is not the time to start discussing the package or accommodation options with the admin staff (there are currently PLENTY of villas and apartments available BTW), as this would actually CONFIRM that you have indeed done bugger all research into EK..... Its ALL clearly stated on the EK career website buddy
