Quote from today's Telegraph:

However, a Unite spokesman insisted that the wave of strikes was hitting BA hard in the pocket.

"It's costing BA a fortune. It was never our intention to hurt passengers but to cause BA enough damage that the airline would address our concerns."
"...never our intention to hurt passengers..." - 12 days for Christmas, striking over Spring half term. Yeah, right. The mental gymnastics that go on in the minds of the strikers to justify themselves must be of olympian proportions.

"...enough damage that the airline would address our concerns..." - what if the damage is such that BA cannot address anyone's concerns - like keeping the pension schemes open. All the unions have worked pretty hard to achieve a solution that protects staff with a low basic wage (now where might they work...?). If that has now been undone by a few fanatics, it's a pretty poor show of TU solidarity.
