I find it interesting that BASSA/Unite, through that muppet DH, seem to be using commuting workers to garner sympathy. Once again they show exactly how out of touch they are with the depth of feeling against this action from Joe Public.

These commuters, enjoying tax breaks as non domiciles, are ordinary workers who, through the generosity of the BA staff travel system, have the opportunity to live ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD and still hold down a well paid job in the UK. Thus it makes commuting nothing to do with BA but purely and simply a lifestyle choice for the staff member. Can't afford full fare tickets? Live next to Heathrow or get another job, especially if, as a striker, the T's & C's are so horrendous you would starve on New Fleet.

Whilst it is indeed workable and, for many of my colleagues, an enjoyable lifestyle it is something that is very rare and uncommon for most working adults within the UK job market.

So, DH, use some common sense (if you have any left) and don't try and use commuters for sympathy. It is akin to a banker complaining he needs his bonus as his Ferrari is so costly to fill with petrol.

Doesn't work.
