To be honest I think if Tony Woodley had his way then this whole mess would have been sorted out months and months ago.

Unite, through its rule change, has dissolved into a mess of egotastic mini unions running around as if they rule the roost. Tony Woodley as a 'chief negotiater' and by all accounts a professional negotiater, has as much authority within his own Union as Willie Walsh does within the said same Union!

Tony Woodley can negotiate professionally to achieve balanced outcome for his members but then he has to 'sell' it to a bunch of amatuers who negotiate with their emotions and personal agendas rather than the overall interests of their membership. Why else have we seen the goal posts change so often and emotive issues such as ST and dismissals becoming major negotiating points.

Unite has collapsed internally and now we, as those who see the economic climate for what it really is and our customers are paying the price.

Bring back the ability within Unite for the paid, professional negotiaters to slap junior sub boards around their petulant backsides and make them accept a deal that is for the benefit of the majority of their members rather than holding out for sweeties that benefit the minority.

BASSA have fired the shots that will kill them. Tony Woodley must be sad to stand down seeing the mess he leaves his 'Untie' union in.

Heady days ahead!

P.S. Seems there are lots, lots, lots more flights being stood up over the coming days. Let BASSA strike for eternity.
