I was one of the first crew to join Cabin Crew '89 when it broke away from Bassa. The history of which I explained in a previous post. Those of us who survive are now in Amicus/Unite.

Leaving aside my strong reservations about being represented by a council instead of a union, the biggest problems for a new organisation are finance and influence.

You need a lot of money, (CC 89 borrowed from Balpa) and a strong organisation ie vary large numbers both in your 'union/council' and backing in other areas. Without this BA at any reasonable level of management will sideline you as largely irrelevant.

It is virtually impossible to go it alone.

Amicus is not gone, it is having to keep a united front. I am suggesting that now is the time for their reps to speak up.

I am pleased that you views coincide with mine but is WW listening. How many members do you have?
