I am sure that there are lower hanging fruit elsewhere, and this brouhaha is not really about cost reduction, but power and the perception of power.
The overheads in running an airline are mildly different to a restaurant.
I suppose BA could stop buying fuel and aeroplanes. That would save a fortune
