Yep, start recruiting New Fleet directly after the strike and give all strikers 24hr availability until they chose to leave. No unfair dismissal claims, bingo.
Strikers then could hardly complain as they would still be "employed" - just not needed.
My mind goes back to LGW SH (BASSA again!) in the 90's - with the exception that after a long time at home most of them finally took one of the original deals.
