Aichi Seiran painted to look U.S.?
A friend told me he'd just watched a U. S. TV documentary about the Japanese floatplane-carrying WWII submarines, and that the program claimed the Aichi Seiran floatplanes were to be painted to mock U. S. aircraft, with U. S. insignia, until some influential Japanese admiral got outraged and had the stars replaced with hinomaru.
I'd never heard that and am suspicious. Anybody else ever heard anything like that?
