LCY is a notoriously expensive airport to operate into, so whilst it's disappointing I can understand why ASW would want to put their resources into focusing on the LGW route which seems to do well for them. LCY has already lost a number of domestic flights (most noteably MAN which was something like 6 a day as I recall), which tells a tale regarding viability of domestic flights from there.
