Just got of the phone with a friend of mine, apparently the "online poll" is simply a link from Tony Woodleys' letter to crew.
It takes you to another page on the BASSA forum where it is simply a YES/NO vote, so here is the rub, they would have voted YES
but are too afraid to do so, because you log onto the forum using your staff number (and password) and therefore they feel they could be tracked by BASSA.
