On BBC local radio this morning (who are obsessed with passenger operations) Sir Peter talked about general aviation, business aviation and freight as what he expects in the near future but didn't rule out passenger services later. He also talked about developing facilities for aviation and high tech businesses around the airport site subject to planning permission. And he talked about importing some of his other businesses.
An interview with Bertie McKay, Chair of Warwick DC Planning Committee was interesting. He said that Sir Peter was someone they could work with, he supported what Sir Peter planned to do. He gave every impression that if Sir Peter "played the game", he would be likely to get the permissions he needs at least for the business premises developments.
BBC local radio are currently talking about the plans for the airport being in jeopardy due to the CAA but all the CAA are saying is that the airport will need appropriate fire cover and ATC for the types of aircraft using the airport - which is not a massive surprise!
