EMA and Leeds both seem to have had a few false starts over the years. EMA has mainly been served by British Midland/bmi Regional/bmiBaby (although FR did fleetingly serve EMA too). Leeds has seen bmi Regional and Aer Arann come and go. The big neighboring airports of BHX and MAN seem to draw more passengers, with RE struggling to fill the ATR from Leeds, against (at the time) the clapped out old 737s from the Baby, over the Pennines at MAN.
It would be nice to see the likes of LBA, EMA back, and the introduction of EWR/JFK. More likely to see a winter/ski destination, I would have thought.
