There are a few of us out here who indulge in a bit of off-duty birding

Your Peregrine sighting is noteworthy, but not unusual. We tend to see more raptors during the Autumn migration periods when there are more (inexperienced) avian aviators about, I have had a family of 5 Kestrels staying here for more than two weeks making short work of the seemingly never-ending supply of exhausted small birds. Also regular are Merlin, Sparrowhawk, Long and Short-eared Owls, and I have had one-off sightings of Osprey and Buzzard.
