Yes sir, that is a stupid question. It may differ a bit from country to country, school to school, but you have at least 9 subjects you have to understand followed by 9 exams for the CAA. Then you have the flight tests and in Sweden, you allso have to study and sit an exam for the certificate in radiotelephony. Different schools may have their own tests that you have to complete before you do the FAA ones. So it's not a walk in the park even though it's quite simple to understand the subjects.
