Brookfield pilots affected by the ash cloud

An interesting aspect to the ash cloud came to my attention over the last day or two. The full time employees of Ryaniar who were stranded away from base are being looked after by the company. Basic employee rights law comes into play and their hotel rooms, meals etc. etc. are all being paid for by the airline.

For those Brookfield pilots who were forced to use the likes of Scanlons and McNamara's to set up a company where they are an employee of that company with a few other pilots regardless of whether they are a director/shareholder as an employee you are entitled under the same employment law to be compensated by their employer.

This means that for those of you who are employees in this arrangement and found yourself stuck away from base "on standby" you are entitled to claim you expenses from the company.

Brookfield and the accountants who sold their souls to get on the preferred list in order to screw the contractor pilots are now about to have their chickens come home to roost.

In most cases a member of staff from the accountants is a fellow director with the pilots. Send your claim against the company into this director.

In other cases the member of staff from the accountant is not only a director but also a shareholder submit your claim to him also. You guys are in a even better position that they guys who are also directors of the companies.

I know that the response is going to be to tell you to F Off. Other accountants and solicitors flagged all of these potential issues to Brookfield and us pilots a year ago.

Greed and taking advantage of us for an additional 3% of our income took over and we were forced into this arrangement.
