Great fun for the pilots, but not as good for the cabin crew.
The speedbrake was a wonderful get out trouble device. Hi speed to short finals was tremendous fun.
As hamster said in many ways easier and more transparent than the bus. Loved it to bits, but it did need lots of TLC. Moving them from EMA where the engineers know them, to LHR where the guys were overstretched, was a complete disaster for reliability.
As for acronyms, try FMS TRP.
