This photo shows an EK crew (both flightdeck and cabin) waiting anxiously in LAX for the Fleet Duty Managers assessment as to whether they are correct in their calculations that they are indeed not legal to continue their trip without a rest under the new ANNEX 21 (a) subpart 3, section 14, supplemental 9, variation 23h.
Turns out they were wrong and they had to continue the route DXB-SYD-LAX-DXB, without crew change, under the above ANNEX. Nice try guys!!!
