I must admit, the older I get, the more I really can't be bothered listening to either side of the argument. It seems to me very obvious : it's all cyclical.
Labour inherit a fab economy : they wreck it : the Tories get in : they rebuild the economy, which usually causes hardship along the way : "the people" (most of whom have memories like goldfish) forget how bad things got under Labour, chuck the Tories out and put Labour in : Labour inherit a fab economy ....
Ah well. At least this time around things aren't quite as bad as in 1979 - at least you can still get the dead buried at the moment, and inflation hasn't hit 25% yet (hey Capn Smithy, how do you like those "double-digit figures" ?
Like I say, to me, it's obvious : the wheel has turned, and it's time to fix the economy - which means, like it or not, time for the Tories ...
As to Chris Grayling's proposals, I'm entirely sure they'll get instantly forgotten if they risk inconveniencing someone's day out shooting ...
