Last year there was no increase.

Have a look at your contract, it does not mention an annual increment. In the past, you could pretty much count on 3%. Last year, due to the downturn, the increase was 0%, and then the hour limit from which you were paid "overtime" went from 78 hours a month to 92. Considering that most pilot rosters were then averaging 76hours a month, and now the average is 90-91 hours, there has been an effective decrease in pay due to the increase in productivity.

By the way, the contract is not really that important anyway, the company can and does change it to suit their needs and/or desires (not necessarily both together), and they don't negotiate on it, they merely advise you of the change.

A lot of what made EK attractive in the past was not in the contract, but it was there, and you could count on it. Since 2008, everything came under scrutiny, and none of it was sacred, so quite a few changes were made, and not for the better (from our side). But I won't rehash those, please take a bit of time to re-read the various postings on this forum, even earlier postings on this thread.

A word of caution, I don't know where you were shown as possible accommodation, but rumour has it that there is not a lot of it around. You don't want to get caught in temporary accommodation (2 bedroom apartment in downtown Diera or Bur Dubai) with your family. The last guys ended up there for over a year, and a number of families have imploded due to this.

Good luck in your decision making process, if it helps at all, of all the guys who joined in the last 2 years, apart from the guys who were unemployed back home, about 60-80% now feel they would have been better off staying where they were.
