Wahey! I got mail! Nice to get some replies even though they're a bit thin on information...oh well. TwoDeadDogs, you're right about diving after a flight but I plan to beat this by flying at low level - say 500 feet. There are a few seaplane and helicopter operators who do this when carrying divers to the Great Barrier Reef.
Well Oleo, there's a certain amount of truth in what you say. Rest assured I wouldn't acquire the aircraft until I'd got permission to operate it...but I reckon that in a poor country like Cambodia where tourist bucks are desperately needed it shouldn't be too expensive to grease the necessary palms. I've allocated 10 grand to that bit of the budget.
I happened across a survey done by one of the big cruise lines, asking passengers worldwide to vote on their favourite excursion. There were a great many to choose from. 2nd overall was a seaplane tour of the Virgin Islands. So I remain convinced that this little corner of aviation could be a growth industry.
