Not a bad theory oneday_soon.

During the last round, about 2-3 years ago REX went on a national then global roadshow. The national trip produced one pre-Cadet, bare CPL who has so far given terrific service, although he now has a stiff neck from the draft due to the number of times he's been passed over. After trying everywhere from Eastern Europe to South Africa, REX finally secured the services of 5 SA expats. Total number of pilots from a worldwide search, 6!!!

2 of the SA guys are now in the final stages of their command training, and the remaining 3 will probably be upgraded in the next round. Good blokes and very competant pilots, but they're still at REX, why? Perhaps it's the $30K REX gave them for relocation that would have to be paid back if they leave. Perhaps there's a condition of the 457 Visa. Maybe a combination of both. Once those obstacles are removed however, these boys will be on the wider market.

Grapevine stuff only, but I have heard that up to ten, yes ten! interviewee's have been given start dates, all with the new min requirements. Now this may be the rumour mill operating in reverse, but if true it would be intersting to see just how many of these people are still around by the time their endorsements are finished?

Stay tuned.
