Lucky people. That bit of water from Nth to Sth is as rough as guts. The Marlborough sounds is no better. The times I have had to fly VFR lower than I would like due to cloud means that an engine failure doesn't bear thinking about. I always look for boats as I cross but they can be hard to spot among the white horses!
