The DAA (on behalf of the SAA which it runs) have launched proceedings against Ryanair in this respect. Ryanair's defence is that the Government's €10 Tourist Tax constitutes a
force majeur, and the contract they had with Shannon allowed for the scenario of not reaching the agreed passenger numbers in the case of a
force majeur.
