EASA Part 147 approved Maintenance organisation

Hi Guys,

My work does involve professional aviation, I wanted to ask a general question, I hope some of the knowledgeable and industry experienced people in here could let me know if I am onm the right track or completely off...

It is regarding my understanding of companies who are MRO specific and other sorts of companies who use aircraft as a part of their service be it for any reason.

Please tell me if the following statement is correct, again I know a little about this but not huge so I dont know whether I am right or not...here goes...

So there are companies who use Aircraft as some part of their service, could be purley to transport the public or VIPS etc or freight services etc, of course all aircraft need maintenance, so when a company that is NOT an MRO, they use a third party company (MRO) and send their planes their to be serviced.

A company who is not an EASA Part 147 approved maintenance organisation cannot just setup their own maintenance team consisting of managers etc so the aircraft cannot be deemed airworthy......

is this right...if not how does it work....???

I would VERY greatly appreciate any repsonse!

Thanks
