i dont know how you actually do the checkride in australia, but in case you dont already know, here are the requirements (i like looking things up ) :

(a) Be at least 23 years of age

(b) blablabla .. about english language

(c) good moral character (dunno exactly how they figure that one out) I think you can't have any DUI's or felony's

(d)
(1) hold a US comm pilot cert & IR
(3) hold a foreign ICAO comm pilot & IR without limitations

(e) meet aeronautical experience (quoted later)

(f) pass knowledge test (i'd assume pretty easy, cause they publish the answers)

(h) comply with various regulations regarding taking the flight test .. blabla..

Aeronautical experience:

TT: 1500 hours

at least:
(1) 500 of XC time (this must be 50nm or more!)
(2) 100 night time
(3) 75 instrument (either simulated or actual)
(4) 250 of PIC (or SIC performing PIC duties)
at least:
(i) 100 of XC time
(ii) 25 Night

thats basicly it, there are a lot of other regulations that allow you to meet those requirements with sims but its to much to list right now

anyhow, i hope i helped out and you didn't already know this
