I did a bit of research into this myself. The training for the FAA IR seems possible in the UK but unfortunately it looks like the only feasable option for the flight test is a trip to the US. There was a UK / France based examiner (
Contact Me) but I dont know if he is still operating.
I've since decided to save up the pennies and go for the JAA IR next year.
