Don't know the story you are quoting (or maybe I have walked into a sarcastic trap ) but is not the best example the Russian T-34 verses the German tiger/king tigers .
The German tanks vastly supperior to the poorly made, armoured T-34's but the Russians had a vastly supperior numeretical advantage (plus there high comand wasn't that fussed over body counts) ?
