Once you hold a Full FAA certificate a 61.75 certificate is no longer open to you and you can't piggy back a non FAA IR onto a full certificate.
Ah!!! Well that changes things then... Looks like the only way is bog standard continuation of 'full' FAA CPL MEP IR. At least I know which direction I need to head now.

As long as the flight is a private flight then you can fly the N reg aircraft on your JAA licence. Outside the UK becomes a very interesting debate and one that is being done to death on the forums at the moment.
Yeh, I'm aware of this one, and NO ONE (IE, any of the authorities at least) can give a strait answer! I know that in the UK, nice, easy, all licences valid... no problem. It's the outside of the UK bit! I know this has been bashed to death on the forums but until we get a definite answer on this I am inclined to consider the 'in Europe' part a no, no!

Thanks for the info. I was asking in the knowledge that my question was a mess so grateful for your simplification.

Regards,

CF
