The Tiger Moth crash in the street I am certain is BB865 of Station Flight Gosport coded "501/GJ" which crashed 7.11.50 at Ryde,Isle of Wight. It had been performing aerobatics over Elmfield area Ryde ,failed to recover from a low level loop and hit telegraph wires at "The Kyles" High Park Road. As the aircraft crashed a lampost and telegraph pole arrested its path. The pilot was Lt Edward Kierman an experienced pilot with 900 hours and the passenger was a civilian airframe engineer from Westland Aircraft Ltd both sadly being killed.
