The German branch of Easy's employees appear to be taking the initiative. Local contracts, local rules, local working practices. Easy knowingly bought into that when the opened up SXF. And if you don't play by the rules, you should expect some trouble.
So one question is, what is Easy's UK (BALPA) CC position regarding their German colleagues? I do hope that it is supportive. The other is who is getting screwed? And for what its worth, Germany isn't in a recession, it's on the way up. I'll bet Easy really appreciate the lovely income generated in Euros by the SXF operation.
