I have flown with a number of SOs and FOs, mainly sons and daughters of CX pilots and engineers, who rejected the CEP scheme and went through the GA hours-building-bug-smashing machine and ended up in CX on expats terms (I imagine there are an equal number of HKID CPL qualified hamburger flippers out there as well
