Question Fitter jobs for EASA B1.3 holder

Really stretching things now after trying everything else.
I currently hold an EASA B1.3 engineer licence with a few type ratings, 28 years in rotary and was looking at moving to Canada. After lots of investigation and chatting to TC I have come to the conclusion that it is almost impossible to get a Canadian licence unless you are in Canada.
My question - is anybody recruiting fitter engineers, maybe that could use the EASA licence, that would enable someone to study for a licence (probably through BCIT).
Feel like I am sometimes. Any advice or words of wisdom gratefully received.
